Since the owners of The Selva Negra (Black Forest) estate took over in 1974, the estate has become a completely self-sustaining bio-dynamic village. Producing vegetables and livestock as well as coffee, the village includes a fromagerie and bakery. Visitors are treated to a restaurant and eco-lodge and workers who live on the estate for $1 rent per year also benefit from the medical clinic, primary school & baseball diamond.
Methane gas from cherry processing is captured and used for cooking and the village is solar powered.
We're stoked to be able to not only offer coffees from Selva Negra as single-origin roasts but also as our decaf coffee.
